Howdy to all my Audi buddies out there! Well, the A6 has over 1,500 miles on her since the top-end job and she's running great, thanks to all of you! However, I'm still trying to chase down some interior parts and am wondering if any of you happen to know of any parts cars or on-line-based salvage yards that I might tap into for my parts searches? Man, I went to the dealer and the various pieces I need are made of unobtanium/cryptonite and, even if available, are astronomically expensive! Any ideas?????
Thanks!

Thanks!
Hey Out There!
The A6 is running great and I'm turning my attention to softer issues like replacing some broken interior pieces, the passenger sun visor retaining clip being one. Another is the replacement of the gear indicator module on the dashboard display. The Shokan folks have been GREAT to work with and I'm very impressed. However, one thing they are unable to help me with is the replacement of a few of the orange coded, clear-lense replacement bulbs in the VDO display. One is missing and two are burned out so I'm searching for either new bulbs AND at least one orange twist lock bulb insert. I'm attaching a pic of the backside of the instrument panel for clarification if anybody needs it and, of course, I'm seeking counsel as to where I might obtain such. . .Also, I have an extra under belly splash panel if anyone is in need- the one that installs under the engine/tranny area and is a pain in the "......" to remove and replace when changing the oil.

I bet after the first oil change a lot of us have an "extra" under belly splash pan! I also have a lot of extra cheesy plastic engine covers. If I was more paranoid I might think that the good people at Audi are conspiring to keep us from actually working on our cars, but that's probably crazy.
However, now that I think about it, my Mustang, with it's 1980's Ford technology, doesn't require me to remove any engine covers to change the spark plugs, so I know it's possible.

As always, Jim, thanks for the recommendation
! Just now placed the order though I'm obviously gonna have to spray paint those inserts ORANGE! Say, wanted to let you know that on this oil change, I also switched out the oil filter o-ring underneath the cartridge- you know the carrier for the oil filter. It was a bit wet 'round there even though the original o-ring seemed soft still. New one in and we're happy!
Say, you guys concern me 'bout your casual attitude regarding those belly pans. They're absolutely essential to keeping the car glued down over 120 m.p.h. so be careful out there if you've tossed yours!
Once again, could've never done this job without AudiForums and the expert/experienced/wise counsel of many, especially Jim!
Makes me want to go find another one of these at a basement price and rebuild it!!!! Not!!!!!!
