Angry 96 A6 Quattro...battery troubles

My 96 Quattro will not hold a charge. When jumped it runs well enough but shut it off and theres no juice to turn it over again. The alternator had been replaced, battery is newer. Is the alternator the only possible cause of drain so fast? Was I simply cheated and the rebuilt alternator no good?

Charge the battery, then go to an auto store and have it tested. They usually will do this for free. A small percentage of batteries may fail within the first two years. They can also test the charging system. However, always ask it these services are free. The battery could go dead if you have a short circuit.

Default battery troubles

This is my third battery. The Audi seems to kill them by constant discharging. Does a bad alternator seem to be the only possible problem if the batteries were good?

Like you were told -- charge the battery and have it and the charging system checked out. If they are OK you have something else draining the battery..
