Default 98 Audi A6 Quattro Question

My wife has a 98 Audi A6 Quattro with 118,000 miles on it. We just got it and it is running rough. I am going to change the plugs and the fuel filter this weekend. Any tips on how hard either of these will be. I am a pretty good mechanic but when I look at all the cosmetic coverings on the motor it looks like a pain. Can someone tell me where the fuel filter is located on it and how hard the plugs are to change. I don't know if I should replace the plug wires also or not they are so darn expensive. Any and all help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Great! Thanks! Do I have to remove anything to get too the plugs on the motor or can it all be reached from the sides? Should I replace the plug wires as well? If so are there cheaper wires out there that can be used than what they recommend for Audi? I appreciate the response tremendously!!!

most spark plugs are ready to install. Go for NGK for audi A6. All u need to do, is take off plastic engine cover (twist four plastic screws on the top). There u can see all spark plugs. There is no reason for change wires.
