Accidently set off alarm today. After I turned off alarm car drove much better, faster and more responsive. This is 2.8 Q avant with tip auto trans, pretty much the slowest Audi out there, but there was a very noticeable difference. I have been getting only 19 mpg and trying to figure it out why. Could this be brake drag caused by traction control? I have ABS light on, but figured that was just the ABS control unit. Is there any connection between the alarm and the brakes? I used key in trunk to "reset" alarm because key fob battery died. Could this have anything to do with it? Thanks for your input.
