I have an 1999 A6 quattro with a few electrical problems. The power door locks and interior lights do not work. Also, the back-up lights occasionally come on when I am in drive.

Any suggestions?

 

I would guess that your PRND switch(who knows what is real name is) is probably sticking, causing the reverse lights to come on when they shouldn't. A fuse is my only guess as to door locks and lights.

 

Check fuse 14. Any other symptoms? Display showing 3 open doors?

 

Thanks for the tips. I was able to figure out the back-up light issue--thanks. I replaced fuse 14, however, still no dome lights or locks. Any other suggestions?

 

I remember reading that the locks and lights may not work due to the door switches. apparently there is some insert that breaks. Somewhere someone has home made fix. You will have to search for it. The entire switch assembly seems to be very expensive.
