Exclamation 99 A6 Quattro, 2.8L -Will not idle

After driving the car home it will no longer idle without the foot on the gas. When I try to read the engine codes all that comes up in ERROR.

I have checked the MAF, it works, throttle body was cleaned, new air filter, I even had a Medicine Man do a dance around it. We still cannot get it to idle on it's own.

Please advise.

1) Pull the codes with a Vag-Com, If your still getting an error something is up with the ecm or wiring to the port.
You should have some sort of DTC reported.

2) Inspect your vacuum lines for broken leaking lines if they are old replace them all, buy oem braided at http://www.ecstuning.com

3) Check your timing belt and timing if your timing is off the car might seem jumpy. Don't want that sucker to break.

4) Check and test your throttle body

How long does it take for the engine to die after letting off the gas?

ICV (Idle control valve), try cleaning it out. You might need a new ICV if that doesn't work.

ICV, all my research shows there is none. There is alsoa 4 pin connector on the passenger side of the radiator that is not plugged in. There is no female portion to connect to. We spent 3 hours searching yesterday.

We need Pictures!

If I remember correctly On Start Up the ECM uses the temp sensors for fuel reg first then the MAF. If the ECM "thinks" your engine is cold it will give it more fuel and adjust the timing until it warms up.

Is your temp gauge working?
Is it straight up and down when hot?
