Default 99 Audi A6 2.8 Need help...Wire Harness

i have a 99 Audi A6 2.8 quattro i need help i don't know anything about this harness wire.. partnumber/what it is?/where it connects to.. can anyone tell me what it is and where does it connect to? please..

its kinda difficult to put it in perspective........... if its in the lock carrier it could be an ambient temp sensor?

Agreed - since it's not touching or connected to any part of the engine. You could try unplugging it and see if you loose the outside temperature function or if the car thrown a code.

2 wire sensor harness (white/red stripe & brown wires).
Goes to sensor at center hood latch, once you get that put back on.
