I plan on buying a HID kit in the near future and have one question. My friend put the hid kit in his car and now the indicator on the dash says that there is a light out. is there anyway to get around this? i know it is because the hid kit is using less power than the factory halogen lights. everything works fine but it would be nice if that light wasnt on all the time because now you dont know when a bulb is really out. thanks

 

I just did a HID conversion in my 96 Avant 2.8. Yes the light did come one, but for some reason now it will only come on for about two to three seconds when I turn on my headlights then it will go out.

 

yea but this one stays on.. anyone else know the answer?

 

Run a couple of searches, I remember seeing something about this problem being due to an improper ground when you switch harnesses.
