Default RE: A6 2000 T front and rear indicators stay on

This is just a guess, but there is an electrical relay behind the hazard switch on the dash. If the lights are staying on even when the ignition is off this points to a circuit that is permanently powered being the problem, the hazard warning lights are one such circuit. If the relay has gone bad it could be sorting and making the lights stay on.The intermittent nature of the fault points to a relay this is in the process of going bad but not yet completely shot. Are the indicators (turn signals) still working?

This means removing the panel around the cup holder/buttons (orcoin draw)and changing the relay. You can get one from a steelership or ebay and try that.

If you go to www.audidiy.com and look at some of the tutorials about installing a passport radar detector they will tell you how to remove the panel in the dash.

Best of luck
James
