A6 2002 Noise problems

RE: A6 2002 Noise problems
I have an Audi A6 2002, 3L v6 Quatro. I bought it precertified a year ago from an audi dealer. Since then i have had to replace all four rotors and brakes, and around a month ago it started to make a really bad chug noise when moving. Very noticable in slow speeds and tight turns. It chugs at the rate of the speed your are driving.
So I took it to the dealer and they claimed that the boots on the drive shafts were bad and warrantee does not cover the boots. So I laid out $1400 to fix it. Now one month later the noise it back. They want to charge me another $150 to test it. I think this is nuts. Surely its their responsibility to find out whats making the noise second time round given that the first time they got it wrong.. or at least partially wrong.
p.s. my milleage is 70k. Any ideas on what could be causing the problem and how i should deal with the dealership?
Thanks
Avi

RE: A6 2002 Noise problems
IMHO - I've been driving southern NJ through NYC to Hartford the last few weeks for work, thankfully in a rental car. The NJ Tpk and I95 thru the Bronx are so crappy - potholes and storm drains plus plain bad pavement joints - I can see how your suspension is whacked. I feel for you and anyone else who has to deal with those roads. Good luck - let us know what your problem turns out to be.
