A6 2008 Keep or Trade In?
Hi,
I need help! I am original owner of 2008 Audi A6 3.2. The car has 90,000 miles on it. I now need $4000 worth of work. Should I trade in and lease a new car or do the repairs and take my chances. The car is worth in trade in to Audi $8500 and to BMW $8000. I do like the BMW 535I which would give me 3 years lease headache free as the car is covered from head to toe, even the brakes, windshield wipers etc.
What should I do?

That's what I did. My 2007 A6 had 206K on it, needed gobs of work. Nowhere near 8500.00 value, bit I had driven the car to retirement.
I bought a fantastic CPO 2012 A6, and it was a the right thing to do, and it didn't cost me 50 goddamn grand.
8500.00 toward a righteous CPO will take out some of the sting, especially if you can plop in another 15K.

Thank you.
I do not like the new Audi A6 styling. Looks cheap inside and for them giving me another A6 lease with my total trade in and an engine 2.0 which does nothing for me.
My car is so fluid and responds so well but i do not want to repair it at $4000 then who knows what will happen after 10000 miles???
The BMW is roomy & fluid. Nice interior and 300HP. But i need to put down the whole car and $1000 more and also the insurance went up due to all the safety features.

535
You're getting a good trade in value. I have been looking at a 535i vs an A6, and as much as I love Audis, I like the 535 better. It's also nice to do drive something different. Both are great cars, but the 535 gets an edge. My greatest concern is that the service at my local Audi dealer is fantastic...an easy 10. I have heard that the BMW service department is not the same.

The 3.0T is the way to go. You don't want a 4 cylinder engine in a car that size.
As for the interior, it's one of the main reasons I stay with Audi. Here in southern CA, the 535 BMW market is quite flush. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of them available on the pre owned market, as everyone has turned in their leases.

I also own a '08 A6 3.2 with 80k miles. If may ask, what part of the car needs $4000 in repairs? Makes me worried.
