A6 3.0 Sports Mode shifting
I recently noticed a change in how my car shifts in Sports mode.
It will hold in 6th gear and not shift to 7th or 8th even while just cruising down the highway. At about 75 MPH it will shift to 7th gear and if I get it up to 90 and hold it will finally shift to 8th.
Previously I would notice the better throttle response and higher RPM shifting range but it would always shift to 8th when I hit 60 MPH or so and let off the gas.
If I take it out of sports mode it immediately shifts to 8th.
Its like in sports mode the car only utilizes 6 gears.
My dealer says this is normal and has no response to what changed.
Anyone have any experience with their car holding in 6th gear when in sports mode?
