Default Weird breaklight issue

Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum so hello and please be gentle with me as I'm not car mechanic by any stretch of the imagination.

I have a 1997 C5 4b A6 1.8T SE

So the problem started when I replaced broken rear break light bulb. Now when the lights are off and I put the break pedal down, the car warns me that I have a front light out(release the pedal and the warning goes away.

If the head lights are switched on, it warns that I have a break light out until I press the break pedal and the warning disappears.

The last one is the strangest of all. If the car is stationary with the engine off, no lights on. if you open the driver side door and push the break pedal down the sound comes on that I have left the lights on...scratch.

Don't really know where to start looking, hence why I'm posting on here

Any help would be appreciated.
