Recently purchased 05 A6 with 102000 mi on it. The day after purchase the check engine light came on. I took it back to dealer and their code reader says ***** coming from the flaps inside the intake manifold getting either stuck open or closed. They cleared the code (which I'm assuming they did the same thing right before I bought the sumbitch) told me to "drive it like I stole it" hoping the high rpms would gum out what ever was catching them up. They also told me to call if it happens again, which it did 3 hours later. Any one else have this issue? If so, what was your outcome?

 

I have a 2006 audi 3.2 a6 and just started getting the same issue. Dealer said it had carbon buildup. Reading online through different places saying that it could be the vacuum hoses coming from the intake. Apparently they crack easy. Luckily it's a quick cheap fix. I'm gonna check out mine today to see if it's a hose.
