Default a6 4.2 ABS problem

Hello,
I am new to Audi and I am a little confused.
I just bought a 2000 Audi A6..a week after the ABS light came on and the BRAKE light...and makes an annoying beeping noise. I had someone look at it and they said that I have to change the ABS module.
Is there any other things (cheaper) that I can do to go about and fix this problem.. can it be anything else that doesnt involve changing the module itself?

The module most likely needs to be replaced, but you if your handy you cand replace yourself with a rebuilt abs module $300+. Search the forums for people who have done this. My abs module is out as well, but I dont have the money to fix it The car still feels fine without it, except in the rain.

Don't worry, you get used to it after a while.
