A6 4.2l 2003
I recently have noticed that my A6 4.2L 2003 has recently been winding alot more than usual. It currently has 64000 on the odometer and has had a recent oil changed. Also, I live in a hilly area and as a automatic has been reving high before shifting. should I have any concern regarding a spinning noise a little more noticeable than usual? My warranty is going to expire in July and wanted to take care of any precautionary things that may go out on the car during this mileage. Any input as to the things I should watch for on this year and model will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your responses.
Im pretty sure the 4.2 has a chain not a belt. As far as belts go, even though audi says 100k I do them at 80k. Ive seen cracking at 75k too. As far as the winding have the tiptronic board checked. Its found in the center console under the shifter. It can make the shift hold way too long. Is the winding the same at all engine temps? If it happens more when its cold could need trans fluid changed. Again even though its synthetic and sealed for life it is good to changes it on these cars that put out 300 / 300. Good Luck!
