Default A6 airbag problem

HI,
I have a 1999 a6 1.9 TDI and on sunday airbag light stayed on after car started, i cleared the fault and its returned today. I ve scanned again and im getting fault code 00589(Airbag igniter passenger side n131). What are my next steps, what do I check, buy or replace

out of curiosity, what was the problem?

It was the yellow block connector under the passenger seat, unplugged it and cleaned it and sprayed it with switch cleaner. Job done.


But still waiting for the light to come back on,as it never that simple. lol

And it has come back on, water in the foot well!!!! Time for the drain holes to be cleaned and the seat and carpet to come out... Happy days...
