I am always afraid that if someone else works on the car and then when I do need the dealership for something, they will cook up a story that the "other" guys messed things up and now it will cost you!
Stealers love Audi Owners like you. They hate Audi owners like me because I won't buy a new or use Audi from them and I won't buy parts from them or bring my car to them to maintain or fix.

I'm beginning to think that 50% of the folks that post on this board are lazy or clueless about cars. And am not so sure about 50% of the reaming 50%.

They ask the same questions over and over without doing a search, give us no info about their vehicle, want CEL answers without giving the code, get mad at us when they do something dumb, and get upset when they don’t get the answer they want.

Radio codes, battery replacement, motor undercover, etc questions are funny but the strange noise, new tires, oil, “how much is it worth”, and should I purchase it questions bypass common sense.

Hey, this is the world we live in!

Clueless - this a category not just in regard of the cars - but for the life in general.

Some of the posts are quite amusing, but rarely there is something new - asked and answered.

I'd suggest - unless you spend your time in front of a computer and the Internet is your medium -. do not spend much of a time and efforts here.

Have you noticed the trend to have very little even none posts for the cars after 04-05?

One might start collecting the dump posts - Top 10 ?

--Here is my contribution - I have a low tire - what pressure would you suggest, please?

BTW- no present upgrade -mod posts. Perhaps some sticky posts could play a role here.

A battery isn't really a performance part, and although some will disagree I would just buy a compatible unit from an autoparts store and saveanywhere from 50-70% of the dealer price. 5 minutes to install and you are golden....and most auto parts stores will even do the install for free (just be sure you have your radio code handy).
National battery and tire quoted me $216, I went to Sears and got one for $160 (Die Hard)....so I belive the $250.

NH,

Aren't your complaints simply "nature of the beast" (blog sites)? You know, no one forces you to read all the stupid new posts. For people like me who have neither the time nor the desire to wrench their own cars (my hobbies now, since the '70 Chevelle died 20 years ago, are golf and excessive wine consumption), having MORE blog posts - many of which are not helpful - instead of fewer makes searching for answers easier. When a TV show comes on that I think is bad, I change the channel.

Can I start a new blog string titled, "What is a 'CEL answer?!'"

05 A6 4.2 completely stock

Most of the regulars on here are trying to be helpful but I'm beginning to think that some folks are beyond help...

nemohn -- as for your tire pressure problem - have you tried using a cider press?

now that we are WAAAAY off topic ..... i find that the forum is made up of 2 main groups, those that autos are a passion and are tecnically inclined willing to help people to the best of their knowledge and are generally a real fan of the marque.

Otheres are " one hit wonders" who come on, have no interest in searching or putting any effort in , get their question answered and dissapear... they way of the world these days ...
