A6 console
Morning, I have 1999 A6 and I need to get the center console side panel off as I have hands free control box behind it that I need to get make and model from. Ive noticed that there is small bolt behind a small panel, anything else I need to know before i start.

RE: A6 console
I recently had to remove the entire centre console (including the back part where the armrest is and the house for the AC and Radio unit). I upgraded to a Navi Plus unit and whilei was there, to remove the standard Nokia car kit too.
Removing that bolt may give you enough flex to get at your box that you require, but just removing that bolt alone will not remove the whole panel/unit off. The design is a bit silly like (well when you have to take it apart). If you want remove it entirely, as far I know, you'll have to start working from the back part where the rear ashtray sits and literally remove the entire centre console.
I have written instructions (some on the net) but don't have them handy at the moment.
