Default A6 Engine Heat

New user who just brought home my new 2007 A6. Noticed after driving it for about 15 minutes to the store and back and then pulling back into the garage that the hood was still extremely hot after sitting in the garage for an hour. Is this a problem with the audis in general or something I should get checked out? First time audi owner, so anxious to see if this is normal or soething to worry about. Thanks for any help.

If the temp gauge is reading ok, and the coolant level is good in the expansion tank then your golden.
Plus its summer man, of course its hot! LOL.

The little V6 seems to run hot. My engine is also hot for quite a while. If the coolant indicator is in the middle of the gauge and the oil temp is 200-225o, that is in the range of normal.

Don't worry about it....Now my 93 VR6 Corrado on the other hand, that sucker runs hot as hell, water/oil both run hot.
I had to make a custom grill for it and cut out some spots in the bumper and add a large oil cooler to get the temp to drop on it.
Plus it doesn't help that summer temps are near 100 most the time.
