Default A6 Recall - JY

Hi, Guys:
Long time reader of the forum and this is the first time that I've ever had to post something.

I brought in my 2003 A6 3.0 for the fuel tank rollover valve recall. After receiving my car from the dealership, there was a strange "clicking" (imagine a playing card in a bike tire from when you were a kid) when I accelerate. It doesn't matter how fast I am going or how hard I am accelerating, the clicking remains.

My car was just inspected last week (no problems) and the problem/clicking did not exist prior to bringing my car to the dealership for the recall.

Any ideas if something in how the nipple on the rollover valve recall is performed that resulted in this mysterious clicking?

Thanks to all in advance for your help.

Too wierd.

I just picked up my car for the recall and I hear the same clicking but only when I'm taking off. As I get up to speed I can't hear it.

I had asked them to check my front suspension because a growning noise when it's hot out. Was thinking it had something to do with their inspection. Ofcourse they say I need all new control arms. My control arms were replaced 25,000 miles ago. I'll have an indy check it tomorrow.

Did you find the source of the clicking noise?

Does the fuel line run under the car? I'm thinking it's vibrating when I step on the gas.

pennaudi let me know it was the e brake cable hitting the drive shaft. Same with mine. They have to release the brake cable for this fix and apparently clipping it back is really difficult.

This is wild. I had my recall done about 2 weeks ago for my 04 a6 and I am experiencing the same thing. I am close to my 35K work done so I will make sure I ask about it. If you guys find out anything more about what could be causing it please let me know.
