Default ABS & Brake light - Have a Code

Okay, so my car started displaying the ABS and Brake light and beeping three times. I just got the VAG-COM cable I ordered off of Ebay and plugged it in. The ABS controller doesn't seem to respond, but the engine controller is giving the following code:

18014 - Rough Road/Engine Torque Signal from ABS: Electrical Malfunction
P1606 - 35-00 - -

I figured I had a failing ABS unit, but now I am even more confused. Can anyone tell me what might cause this P1606 code?

Still sounds like a bad abs control module. The ecm just isnt seeing a signal it expects to see from theabs since the abs control module is dead so it throws a fault for a bad signal.

Yes that fault code is usually thrown when a faulty ABS module is present.
The only other cause would be a faulty IAT sensor, which really isn't plausible.

Any luck with the ABS Module?

My friend's 4.2 is beeping with ABS & Break lights after he drives on the road for 15 minutes. Then it beeps again and goes away in 15 minutes.

I wonder if he has the same problem.

Any suggestion?

Thanks!
