Default ABS and Brake Light Sensor won't go Away

My wife has a 1998 A6 and the ABS and brake light came on shortly after changing the pads and Rotors. I'm sure
the ABS sensor is bad but now other electrical stuff is buggy (turnsignals are faster now).

I'm sure we won't keep this car more thananother 8 months becuase everything just keeps failing. Would it make sense just to pull the fuse that runs these warning lights or will that do something else catastrophic to this car?

You cant just pull a fuse to turn off those lights. If you pull the cluster fuse the entire cluster would be dead. If you pull the abs fuse the light will still stay on. Find out the fault in the abs. It may not be that expensive to replace the part. Are you sure you dont have a turn signal bulb out.

Not sure if the turn signal light is out but will check right now. thanks for the advice. Just real tired of spending 1 grand a month keeping this thing running and it only has 75K miles. We are the original owners and want to keep it as long as the ride is great.

Would the turn signal also create the Brake light indicator as well?

I just found out that the front passenger turn signal is out. Is that relatively easy to replace without breaking the seal on the Xenon bulb? Also, do you think that is the root cause of the ABS and Brake warning or is it the ABS sensor gone out. That is my guess without a VAG-COM

The signal light is very eash to replace. Your owners manual in the back has instructions on how to replace it with pictures. The light bulb should only cost couple of buck. For ABS, there is a lot of info on this forum. I just took my ABE apart and will send it in to get it rebuilt for $179. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-Pa...spagenameZWDVW
