Hello,

1999 A6 AC makes noise. Its very low and not earable if you have loud music on but on a nice quiet drive it will drive you nuts. Turning the AC off makes it go away.

Anybody know what the solution is? It sounds like a baring somewhere but where?

This question was raised by another member in the last few days. He got a few good responses. Do a search and see what you find. It may be the fan or it may be something within the vents.

 

Probably its ac fan.
I had to replaced it and now ist quiet.

Your AC might be running out of cooling stuff. My AC starts keeping "heavy breathning" noise if cooling stuff goes under 450g (max 550g).
