Advice on 2.7T
Hi all!
Hopefully soon I will be buying a 2004 A6 2.7T. I do not want to over pay for mininal performance boost and was wondering if it is worth it to look for the S-line package? Is it better to buy the best 2.7T with minimal miles? I know it may sound crazy but I don't want to spend much more than $20000 on this car and I saw a 2004 at a largedealer for $24898 that had 33,550 miles on it. I am not sure how Audi dealers are about coming down on the price but I would have bought this car if the dealer didn't later inform me that it had been sold at auction. Thanks all for the help!!

RE: Advice on 2.7T
I'm new to audi's myself, and just bought a 2004 2.7T s-line with about the same mileage as what you mentioned (for almost the same price as you mentioned).. I have never driven a non s-line, so have no idea about the performance difference, I went the s-line route because I like the way it looked.
I think the regular a6's I saw all looked to plain (pasaat plain), and the few exterior differences of the s-line set it off for me...shallow, I know!

The $25K price seems about right for that mileage, and a great price if it is a certified car. For a non-certified car, you may have some negotiating room.
I have the S-line, I like the rear spoiler look and the 17" wheels, also the 15hp performance boost andsport suspension..
The manual 6-speed isnice if you are a sporty driver, but this is not available in the 2004 S-line. Personally, I like the automatic, it lets me focus more on the road, and my wife can drive it too.

Thanks for the replies! Yes that 2.7T (non S-line) was a certified car so I guess I haven no room to get a good deal correct? I love the sportiness of the S-line but if I can add a few things to make mine just a nice with minimal cost I am all for it.

RE: Advice on 2.7T
I purchased an '04 A6 2.7T S-Line last month. Priced out at $26k with all options except navigation. Car is certified through 2010 and had40k miles at purchase.
I test-drove both non s-line models and s-lines. I liked the sport suspension and wheel setup much more on the s-line model. I never had the opportunity to test both models speeds, but the car I purchased is sweet on the highway. Punch the accelerator and watch it go !
Let me know if you have any other questions.
