Default Advice on changing engine oil

I'd appreciate some advice. I have a 97 A6 2.5TDi avant. I am new to working on my own car, but have done a couple of jobs successfully, most recent being changing the rear wiper motor.

I want to change the engine oil and have three questions:

1. Is the sump drain plug easily identifiable and accessible, bearing in mind the low ground clearance of the car?
2. Will I need a special tool to remove it?
3. Is there anything that can catch me out on what I think should be a straightforward job?

Moving on from this, if I want to change the oil filter, is that a much more involved job?

Cheers

Default RE: Advice on changing engine oil

Hey welcome to the forum. Most of us are from the States, and we don't get the TDi engine. Almost all of the audi engines we get over here are easy to change though. It's pretty straight forward. You really should change the filter every time you change the oil too.
