Default Alternate Wiper Arms

Does anyone know if C4 or C6 wiper arms will fit a C5? I am sick of these POS wiper blades from Audi. I just paid $58 for a pair at the dealer and, guess what, a 2" streak down the center of both! I know its the wiper arms corroding but every other manufacturer in the world has a better system than this dangerous piece of junk. I would like to replace the arms and go to a standard type blade system instead of the Audi specific "Aero" (WTF is "aero" about them???) blades. Had anyone tried using arms from a different year A6? How about from an A4, A8, Passat, etc.? If it wasn't for the snow, I would go junkyard cruising tomorrow...

Bob, I'm assuming you have the`02-`04 C5(non 4.2) wiper arms. If so, you can "downgrade" to `98-`01 C5(non 4.2) wiper arms that use the conventional hook retainer...then you'll be able to use a wide assortment of aftermarket blades. Ironically enough, some folks regard the later "aero" arms/blades as an upgrade on older C5 models...go figure.

Personally, I like the performance of the OE-style Valeo aero blades...but I don't like the later fastening system for the exact reasons you mentioned. I'm currently using a set of Valeo aero replacement blades(purchased from The Tire Rack) on my old-style, stock wiper arms. They're 10mo old and still holding up great.
