What is the function of the two metal pipes? Are they for the airconditioner? What is the large black object just below the two metal pipes? Is that an engine mount? Looks as though Audi built the car around the alternator.
Are you using the Audi shop manual CD by Bentley?
Did you try removing the belt tensioner, the timing belt cover, and the crankshaft pulley and loosen the pipe anchors to get more room?
