Default Anchor audi problem list for heater issue

I brought my car in to my dealer for an oil change, requested they check on the heater because the automatic setting produces a noise and the only way to get the noise to stop is by lowering the fan speed.

When the car is heated up and parked, the vents blow cold even when temp is set on HIGH.

The dealer said the issue was the HEATING BLOWER PUMP, THEY SAID I NEED A WATER PUMP. Just another hour in THEY SAID I NEED A TORQUE CONVERTER, I HAVE LEAKING ENGINE MOUNTS. Now the issue is that they are charging 51 hrs to do the job at $127/hr. They requested authorization from my insurance company but they declined until they send out an inspector. Now my issue is that they still charge me 2hrs diagnostic but they are reluctant to close the bill because they are waiting on adjuster. I did not authorize any additional service except the diagnostic. Any thoughts? I dont' think I need a torque converter since the cars acceleration is good, anyone with any experience of faulty torque converter? My car does not overheat which is causing me to think there's no need for a water pump; also there's no noise on idle. Any thoughts here? For the engine mounts they told me they are removing the complete engine and charging 9hrs to change the one that is leaking.

ANY COMMENTS IS APPRECIATED. MY WARRANTY IS SAYING THEY FAIL TO SEE HOW A WELL MAINTAINED AUTOMOBILE HAS SO MANY PROBLEMS EVERYTIME IT GOES TO THIS DEALER.

First, good that you have a warranty to help defray some of these costs. Some points - I had a heater that made the same noices you describe, turned out to be the blower motor and as it was before warranty ended, it was no cost. As for the torque converter, I had mine replace at about 50,000 miles - car rode fine but the check engine light came on documenting the needed replacement. My warranty company paid the bill (other than the labor differential) and actually covered the cost of the buying the warranty with that one experience.

Sounds to me like your dealer is being a bit creative on what they are recommending. Perhaps getting the car to a trusted Audi independent shop will make life easier going forward and certainly cheaper as the $127 for the dealer rate, is outrageous. As a reference, my independent shop charges me $85.
