Audi A6 The mid-sized Audi A6 model offers more room to the driver and passengers over the A4 line.

Anyone know what this is called or for?

Default Anyone know what this is called or for?

1996 2.8Q... Its on the air plenum between the EVAP and Blower.. Has a red 'ACHTUNG' sticker on it and inside is the same controller as the temp and flaps.... I thought it was for recirculation, but that seems to be taken car of by a vacuum solenoid. I tried several combinations of heat/air/vent settings, but couldn't get it to move, and its not listed in the manual I have...

No idea, usually anything that says achtung (attention) is usually an electrical device or control module. Why are you in the A/C compartment anyways?

My temp regulating motor went and I've already tried the cleaning trick.. this module (as are the flap controllers) are the exact same parts with different connectors... soo.. I was gonna swap the 7vdc motors in order to get regulated heat.

Just to test it or as a permanent fix? You should be able to swap those motors, although i have never needed to try it.

As a permanent fix.. I'd find another 7v motor to replace this one if I needed too.. I just need to know what it does..? If I can just open it up all the way and leave it, that'd be cool.

I'm acually thinking its the AC Temp Controller, but not sure.. no place I can find lists it.

If you have a dealer nearby you can go to the parts department and look it up on a diagram on ETKA with the parts guy. Shouldn't cost you anything and it will have that parts designation.

Ya.. thats the other problem... The part# is listed as the Temp Flap Regulator motor located on the drivers side (the one thats broke)...

Part# of the motor thats broke: 443 820 511A

Part# of the unknown motor: 4A0 820 511A

The 443 # doesnt come up on a search, but the 4A0 comes up as the part I'm trying to fix? Go figure... However, as stated, ALL the motor controllers are actually the same with only the actual connector and lever arms being different, so in reality, any one will work... especially the cheapest one

Thanks!
