Default Audi A4 will not start

Hi,

I parked my A5 one month ago and did not use it since then. It has been very cold since then and also the car was very low in fuel. When I tried to start the car this week it refuses to start. The battery was dead (another problem where there seems to be a drain in the battery over time ) so I used a booster pack to get it going. The car turns over and seems like it should start but does not. I added a gallon or petrol just in case it was empty but no good. All I get is the odd popping from the exhaust and sometimes the engine seems like it is firing early and stops the engine turning.

Any ideas as to how to fix this.

Regards
Tom

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it might help if you clarified what model it is...

Is it;

1. An A6 (the thread section you posted it in);
2. An A4 (like the subject line says);
3. An A5 (like your post says)...

Just saying, you might get better help if you clarify...
