Audi a6 2002
Just put a new battery in my car thanks to AAA. They were great. Grandpas Towing in Snohomish, WA. He even knew how to keep the new battery connected so the radio wouldn't shut off. I was afraid of this because I didn't know my radio code. Needless to say it cost me 140 installed for a 6 year battery. If I would have taken it to the dealership they would have raped me for over 300 probably!)))
My advice is for everybody to have AAA. Even if you have a Service contract and even if you have Road Side Service with your insurance company. AAA has been great and I give them 5 STARS!!!!!

Glad to here there are some good AAA shops around but my local one is terrible I installed new front brake pads for a friend of mine on a saturday she then took it into the local AAA shop the next week for an oil change and they tried to tell her she needed new front brake pads!!! Luckily I only work a block from their shop and went right over to see what was going on. The manager really started stuttering when I showed up and told him I had just replaced those pads a week ago. He then tried to say it was a mistake!!! I think his A#% is still sore from the chewing I gave him its people like that that give repair shops a bad name.
I have had my Audi A6 since Day 1 in 2002. I absolutely love it. However it has had its fair share of problems like any car. I always find it funny when I am in the finance office signing up customers who don't want a warranty because they have never had one problem on any of their cars for the last 20 years!))LOL And they call us employees in the car business liars. HA)))LOL Talk about lying through your teeth.
However this article is about the Check engine light that went on in my car over 2 years ago. Roger Jobs in Bellingham,WA said I need to replace my Torque Converter. Now they knew I was in the car business so they didn't press me to hard or try and scare me. However it is a 2,900 Repair plus tax etc. Now the Torque converter has a sensor inside of it that commonly FAILS! Doesn't mean the Torque converter is bad. Because if the Torque Converter was really bad you wouldn't be able to drive the car otherwise you would most likely damage the engine. However the only way you can get the check engine light to go away is replace the WHOLE DAMN torque converter because the sensor is inside the converter. Thus when this goes bad they usually recommend that you replace the rollers, belts, water pump etc and just do the whole damn service. All over a stupid sensor!)))LOL I have been in the business for almost 13 years and I have talked with several Audi Techs and they all say its a bad design and that Audi should recall this part. Most dealerships will try and scare you and say that you risk the transmission going bad. I however have done my own science experiment and have driven my car for almost 3 years with the check engine light on and refuse to waste that kind of money on a sensor that should be a RECALL by AUDI. However, Roger JOBS Audi should be ashamed of themselves because they almost got me. It just leads me to believe that they and all the other Audi Dealerships have seriously made serious dough on this repair that in my opionion is NOT NECESSARY!!!! That is the reason I Titled this article the Torque Converter SCAM!! So Audi of America if you read this post... Do the right thing please. Please Recall this part and do the right thing.
Don't get me wrong. Everybody needs to make money. However this I believe should be a recall. However, it is my belief that a lot of people get scared but I am living proof that if the torque converter sensor goes bad does not mean the torque converter as a whole needs to be replaced. BEWARE is what I am really trying to say. Those service writers are salesmen too. They are always trying to upsell you. That is their job. Their job is to make as much GROSS PROFIT as possible for the dealership. They get paid on commission on their gross profit. So big time jobs that require 12 hours of labor mean big time money out of your pocket book.
Stay tuned for my TELL ALL book coming out about all the dealerships I have worked for in the past 13 years. I have worked for 36 of them and know ALL their dirty secrets from Service to Sales to Finance and even Parts.
If you would like a copy of the book it is going to sell for $19.95. Please email me your name and address and phone number for my customer base. When I have 100,000 people that want the book I will have it published. This book will help you save THOUSANDS!!!!!!
Respectfully,

What would you sell it for then?)))LOL Whats more of a SCAM? My Book idea or AUDI ripping your head off on repairs?)))LOL You tell me smart guy!))LOL
I fully agree Sheldon!))LOL I have paid my dues long enough working for all these pukes!!!)))LOL I am thinking that I should take my millions if this happens and set up a Union for the car business employees to protect them since people in the car business have so much turn around and they have no pension, no nothing. Owners just treat the employees like they are ****** and go down the street and find new ones for less expensive. I am fortunate because I have never gotten into drugs or alchohol or gambling and have saved my money. But so many are not. Very sad actually. So many people in the car business are good people and have families and kids to support. They deserve much better. In my opinion they deserve much better treatment since we have to put up with so much CRAP from customers. People are crazy))LOL I don't condone that the Service department will rip your head off at any cost. However whats worse? Your attorney that just loves to bill hours and then goes behind closed doors and laughs with his friends about how much he has taken you for at 300 and hour or Microsoft selling software at 2000 percent markup? Should I give some other examples? or how about all the people that purchase a new A8 for 100,000K and then 5 to 6 years later they could have purchased a new one for 20-25 K? with 60-80K miles?
