Default Black Smoke on Acceleration

My 2006 3.2 quattro emits black smoke on hard acceleration. Is this typical? I wasn't too worried about it until the other day when cruising at around 65 I punched it to pass and noticed a cloud in the rear view mirror. It does not smoke noticeably under normal driving, but the chrome tips are coated in soot. The dealer checked and said it was normal, but I find this odd (just purchased pre-certified w/36k mi.).

Factory exhaust I presume. Doesn't sound normal to me.

Wish I had something to back this up. Someone will chime in soon

It's carbon buildup burning off. Normal for a car that saw slow city driving with no highway cruising or hard acceleration.

It will go away with time.

Use 93 octane add techron with synchron fuel system cleaner and dont be afraid to get the rpm's up. It seems like the car is never "used". I see all kinds of cars present this when the drivers never open them up. On-ramps to the highway are good places to get the rpms up.
