Default Bolt Freewheeling in MAF housing

Hi Guys

I'm having some issues with a MAF sensor, i'm swapping 2 around including a so called 'new' one that has been throwing up 'Engine too rich' codes. My original one seems OK after i managed to get some tamper torx to remove the hot wire to clean it properly.

Unfortunately i think i may have overtightened one of the bolts as now when i try and remove it, it's just freewheeling and not coming out. I don't think its broken, more likely the thread housing is loose inside the plastic box cover.

Anyone had this problem before? know a way to fix it?

Cheers

yea while unscrewing it have someone slip a small flat object under the head and pry up gently. this will provide the upforce to get it out. this use to happen o my lancer a while back

Thanks, yeah i tried that, but i was paranoid about putting too much pressure on the MAF when levering with the screw driver.

I'll keep trying cheers

Well, i fixed it, but no amount of levering was going to help.

In the end i clamped the end of the bolt with Vice Grips wiggled and pulled, the whole bolt came out fo the plastic housing with Brass thread attached.

I then removed the brass thread from the screw and epoxied it back into the plastic, seems to work fine
