Default Bose tape player stuck, now what?

My 99 Avant Bose radio has a cassette stuck in the player - won't eject. The tape will play perfectly sometimes when I turn it on, and other times it is wobbly, sounds like it's playing both tracks at once erratically - and just clicks when I hit the eject buttons.

I can't figure out how to remove the radio. I tried putting two slender knives in the front slots and pulling, but it didn't move even slightly. How does the radio come out? Special tools? Does some trim or other panel have to come off first? Thanks in advance.

Follow the link in my signature to my registry page. Once there, find the link for IceLink/Ipod integration. Follow that link and you'll see a description of how to remove the radio. Yes, you do need speical tools. www.enfigcarstereo.com sells them.

Good luck.

I would try pulling the fuse for the radio. It may reset the radio and at least spit out the tape so you dont have to listen to noise.
