Default Brake Caliper troubles...

Does anyone have a good trick to getting the calipers/pads off when the rotor has a little lip on the outside that prevents the assembly from just sliding off? I am keeping the rotors as I don't have the $$$ to replace all 4 right now, and there is plenty of life left, so I don't want to try prying or anything and end up destroying the rotors. I've tried taking the brake fluid cap off and pushing on the caliper each way just to see if I can get ANY leeway but the piston is still pushing strong. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, CB

Take off the caliper bracket. They are held by 2 hex bit bolts.

On the side opposite the pistons, use a small prybar or large screwdriver between the pads and caliper (not the pads and rotor) and slowly compress the pistons back into the caliper. (The caliper will slide side to side.) Depending on the caliper type, the pads should be able to be removed. This should give you enough room to get the caliper off of the rotor. With my brakes, the pads can be replaced without removing the calipers.

If a BFH dosen't work get a BerFH

You could always remove the lip with a small grinder
