Brake Dust
If you put pam on the wheele it will wipe of very easily, but the only way to prevent brake dust is buy special pads. I think you sacrafice stopping power, but I have seen pads that "say" no brake dust around.
You want to stay away from wheel shields as they have the tendency to hold in heat which will degrade stopping power. You need to purchase low dust brake pads, like Hawk, EBC, etc.... A old neighbor of mine had EBC's on his M3 and he said he loved them. I have Hawks and I have no complaints. There is no such thing as dust free pads. Just be diligent and keep washing those wheels!
OOOO
When I had my brakes done at 110k my indie shop recommended/used Centric pads. I've noticed very little dust build up and stopping is the same as OEM. Since I don't race the car, that's just fine.
I also thoroughly wash and wax the wheels before mounting each season. There's always a small amount of brake dust build-up and it comes off with much less effort when the rims are waxed, especially on the inside.

I waxed mine because i saw ppgoal talkin about it b4 ... you can actually pretty much hose them off ... please dont instal shield they are so ugly lol ... believe it or not ... slotted and drilled rotors shove the dust out the back of the rotor not keep it in front ... expensive alternative ... hawk blus are low dust i am running them now
Buy a pair of Akebono Euro Ceramic brake pads. I have them on my A6 and my 540i and I have NO BRAKE DUST ON MY WHEELS. Stopping power is the same as OEM.
When I was my cars, I never have to clean the wheels between washes...and I'm talking 2-4 weeks easily. The rims stay clean like the day I washed the car.
