Hello everyone this my first time on this site (im a newbie) and this site is AWSOME there is SOOO much information. my question is i have a 1999 audi a6 2.8 and i am interested in getting some BRIGHT (blueish/purple) bulbs but i want them to be beautiful bulbs. i was wondering if anybody would help me in recommending good bulbs to buy.

i have seen plenty on EBAY that say they are the best but i think its all BULLL

I was thinking about PIAA's but there are so many diff types!

any recommendations ?

 

You won't get a lot of brightness from a colored bulb. A white color bulb like Sylvania Silverstars will give much more light.

 

The silverstars will give you more light, but they have half the life expectancy compared to regular bulbs. Another alternative is get an aftermarket HID kit. It will be more costly up front and more so if you need to get it installed by someone. They look sweet though. I know a guy with a 2000 M5 that got his kit from these guys, http://www.xenondepot.com/. He's been happy with it.

 

I really want to get in on this. I've been searching for the last hour. I have an 03 A4 with Xenons. I like the HID look, but don't see spending the $300 or $400 for a kit. From what I'm reading I'm not going to get the look I want without that upgrade...Is this correct?
