Burning smell
Hello, its my first post here hoping you can help
I have an 2005 A6 Quattro 3.0TDI (uk spec), with tiptronic 6 speed which has so far been modified with Eibach suspension and 19" wheels.
All's been fine until we had the car re-mapped by superchips last month - the map is fine (and car rapid!) but in the last week the car has developed a burning smell from the rear, smells like rubber. The wheels are not rubbing but the exhausts pink like mad which it never used to do. Im guessing the exhaust pink is due to the excess heat caused by the remap - any ideas to the burning smell tho? Car has approx 275bhp and 559NM Torque since map.
Thanks in advance
Phill

The classic way to check cats is:
Measure the pressure before and after the cat (usually it could be achieved by drilling small holes and insert the tip of the probe of an manometer).
There is no enough evidence for clogged cats here.
Is the smell coming from the exhaust pipes or from the engine.
What about the very common cam adjusters seals leakage over the exhaust pipes?
