Buying a US A6 in Canada
I live in Canada, and I am looking at a 2007 A6 that comes from California. What impact does the fact that it might be a US car have on the value? How much less would one pay for a car given that it originates in the USA instead of Canada? Should I discount it by a certain percentage, or should they be roughly the same in value?
Soooo many questions. Any help would be appreciated.

You should look to see between a 25-35% lower asking price / estimated value compared to Cdn funds. For instance, a 30k car Cdn$, should sell around $21k US. Those aren't numbers based on the model you're looking at, just an example.
At the end of the day, you need to offset the currency exchange, shipping/pick-up costs (fuel), warranty transfers (if any), other admin costs associated with bringing the vehicle north of the border.
If all of that adds up and you are still seeing a savings, then its something to consider. But I don't see any other reason to purchase a vehicle from the US if it will cost you more in the end, aside from having a car that hasn't seen snow, (But has seen salt water air, other issues or factors). And you'll also have a car that reads in Miles on the speedo/odo.
Good luck shopping around.
