The CEL came on again, same code P0343. The car runs fine, is this something to worry about? Should I bother changing the sensor as long as the car's running good?

Well when you get fault codes for cams 90% of the time its a loose timing belt, so no. How long has it been since you changed the belt? Whats the mileage? I would take off the timing belt cover and see if the belt is tight.

Mileage now is 120,000. TB was changed last April at 100,000. Last August I got the CEL & code P0343. Car was running fine, erased the code and now it's happening again. MPG is 18.5 city.

I would still check the T belt, my best guess is he re-used the hydraulic tensioner which eventually gave out keeping the belt loosely tensioned. Who did the work? Do you have a reciept of what he replaced etc?

I bought the kit from Blauparts or ECS with Tb, WP, tensioners, etc. A friend who's a German car indie did the job. He's a knowledgable & good guy.
I know the tensioner was replaced. I would want to pay him to take it apart to check the belt tension.
Why else would this be happening sporadically with no other symtoms?
Would it be worth the time to switch one of the cam sensors to bank 2 & see if the code follows? How important is it to address this now as long as the car's running good? Thanks for the help.

You could swap the sensors to the other bank real quick, i doubt the code will move though. If the T belt is indeed loose for some reason or another it shouldn't be driven until its checked out just to be safe. Bending valves in a 3.0L motor is a very expensive prospect.

Code P0368 Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit High imput Bank 1. Check engine light came on as I went over the speed bump in my drive way.

Anychance this could be a loose connection or a bad sensor? I have 93,000 miles on the car and I know a timing belt is gonna happen sooner then later but I can't afford it right now.

Hit a bump and it went off. I would bet on the hydraulic tensioner on that. I know how you feel, Audi Economics are really pissing me off. Best to get it checked out though because you really really can't afford new heads right now.
And your ripe to do the kit.

I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. I come from a family of mechanics, mostly diesel but one of my brothers has three BMW's and does most of his own work. And another brother that learned everything from the best. We have Been reading and isn't the kit like $600, and another $50 to rent the tools?

I thought the Timing belt was supposed to make it to 110,000 miles
