60,000 for belts unless the otherwise noted.. in this case, 90,000. Audi at one time said 120,000, but quickly changed.

Yeah, almost all VW & Audi vehicles are rated around 100k, but general consensus is to do it much sooner - 75-80k. I personally did my '02 A6 at 61k miles a few months ago, but that's b/c the car is 7yrs old & I don't trust a rubber belt w/ a $10k motor. $600 and 10hrs of my time is WELL worth!!

To each his own though. There are plenty of people that make it to 100k or more and others that have had it snap at 50k. The majority of failed belts that I've read of though are in the 80-85k range.

They are easy to get to. On the back of each head close to the fire wall there is a cover it is the module that is screwed into that cover. Should only take 5 minutes to replace.

2003 A4 just started throwing a CEL for the camshaft position sensor. Unfortunately my daughter's car and when she took it to the garage she did not ask the code. Only 81k on the car but the TB has not been done. I was planning on doing the TB at 90k. If I replace the sensors and the CEL clears am I good, or is it possible I still have a failing tensioner or belt? I'd hate to put a couple-few hundred into sensors and then have to do the TB for $1200 anyway, but I'd rather replace a failed sensor than spend $1200 for the TB job.

Default A6 2.7L camshaft position sensor (P0348)

I am not sure if the thread is dead or not...recently the check engine light came on in my wife's '02 2.7L A6. I read the code and was P0348 - Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit High Input (Bank 2). Reading in the thread, bank 2 is the driver's side, correct? And the sensor should be on the back side the head, correct? My last question is, does the sensor need to be adjusted or it is a bolt in place type of sensor?

Also on a tangent any suggestions on brake pads? It has the 4pad fronts.

Thanks, JWG
