catalytic problem?
Just today i started my car and it was kind of bouncy. I've had my check engine light on for sometime. I had it checked a while ago and they told me it was one ofmy o2 sensors for the front. I never had it replaced and i just had my car checked again and they said something about my catalyst.
They asked me if i was smelling rotten eggs which i wasnt but now i do. my car has lost a lot of power. so do i need to replace my cat now. Also when ever i drive it now and i try to give it a lot of gas my check engine light flashes.
pretty sure i need to replacemy catat this point but just making sure
thanks

RE: maybe cat problem?
Bad o2 sensors can cause cats to fail. A friend of mine drives a Taurus, her check engine light was on for over a year because of a bad o2 sensor. I told her a year ago to get it fixed or she would be buying a new cat, well she didn't and now a year later she is *****ed that she is buy a new cat and o2 sensor.
Not saying thats what you did, just saying it is common. A6 are also known for bad cats.
