Default Changed oil cooler o-ring and it still leaks.

I changed it on my 96 and well it still leaks slightly, not as near as bad as before but still very slightly and it bothers me. Who else has a leak here, I now its common but is it not fixable.

I switched from regular oil over to full synthetic and I know that this can cause leaks to happen but is it the oil and would it not leak if it was regular oil.

I tightend the oil filter shaft first and then tightend the nut, I also put a thin layer of silicone around the outer edge of the gasket and it didn't leak at all after I fixed it till about today and that was yesterday, is it becuase the gasket got hot and shrunk and it needs to be retightend.

What do you guys think.

You can't seat it wrong, the old one had a rounded side and a flat side.

The new one is rounded on both sides so it didn't matter how to seat it. It also was snug on the oil cooler so I don't get it.
