Hello all,

So i have predicament, I just got my renewal statment for my tags on my 98 audi a6 but my problem is that i have a problem in cylinder 2 and my check engine light is on and the emissions place wont run the test. my question is does anyone know how to get to the bulb that lights up the check engine on the dash? or is there a fuse that controls it and if so what else does it control? also does anyone else know how to get around emissions?

probably by fixing the issue. just not having a CEL on won't give you a free pass for the emissions test for your vehicle. for inspection the car gets hooked up to a computer and if there is an issue, there will be a print out of it anyway.

 

Figure out why the CEl is on!! do a search on VAGCom in this forum and get one so you can tell what the code is. Come back withthe code and people might be able to help. if there is an Autozone nearby they might be able to get the code for you.
