Default Check Engine Light

Hey everyone, I have a 03' A6 Qauttro and my check engine light is on. Did a test and it had said something about (Evap Emission Control System Leak Very Small), dude told me that it might be my gas cap, changed that and about two days later light came on again saying the samething. Any help would be a blessing, also would it affect my car's performance?

This is probably a dumb question but you do know that you have to turn your gas cap until it clicks right

You need a new gas cap, only thing that causes a very small leak in most cases.

I would check for a vacuum leak around the engine, this way you're not messing around with the gas cap.
