Default CHIP SURVEY

Hey all - I just wanted to post this survey that a company did based on customers feedback on the chips installed to their 2.7t motors.
I believe that this would give everyone some info before purchasing a chip.

Incredible 3rd gear, more torque everywhere. Notice turbos more; Drivability: different!-everyone now knows when I'm going fast, especially w/ filter upgrade. Maybe need some springs to settle car, & perhaps an exhaust for breathing.

Turbo failure seems to have been due to a TBB failure at high altitiude (9000ft). Turbos were loud upon return from the trip. After replacement of turbos there were no further problems for another 5000 miles.

Waited 10 months to chip it.. Advice: Don't wait. The car accelerates effortlessly. No increased noise. The chip is as smooth as the stock chip, just much more power. Addiction in the making.

My shop will even loan me a stock box when I go to service if I am paranoid. I was also told that there is an inherent warranty that Garrett has which says that if any problem is due to the chip, Garrett will pay for it.

Performance now has to be experienced to be believed. Strong in all gears,very tractable even from low rpm no hesitation at all. Much better fuel consumption (if you treat it gently, i.e. more or less legal highway speeds.)

I RECOMMEND THE T.A.P. STAGE 1 CHIP TO ANYONE AFRAID TO HURT THEIR ENGINE. ALMOST 20,000 MILES WITHOUT A FLAW. LLTEK CONE INTAKE MAKES HUGE DIFFERENCE W/ CHIP. FEELS AMAZING AND SOUNDS GREAT TOO.

The S4 biturbo, stock, is powerful. Amazingly, this power only serves to make me want more power. Suddenly, 310 hp (estimated result of my mods) seems weak. Next up? The magic 400hp milestone. After the warranty is up...

I went to the 'factory store' and had chip installed. Watched as they down-loaded the program for the 2001 chip and write it to the chip. Interestingly simple. Works good. Feels good. Commute 190 miles/day. Added shifter too. Well worth cost.

I know you have to replace the Diverter Valve's, and it's a good idea to replace the Throttle Body Boot, but what about the transmission? With the 70 or so added HP, will the transmission need work? Can the transmission (Auto) handle that much gain on stock parts?

Also, is it true that if you upgrade to K04 turbo's you have to get the chip re-programmed?

the stock auto on the s4 can take the chip no problem... you gotta get the tip chip with it too
