Default clank noise in right front tire

I have a 2000 A6 Avant wagon and for the life of me cannot figure out where this clanking noise is coming from everytime I hit a bump. I've recently put new tires on it and had them check the wheel, mainly center cap thinking that was it. Nothing wrong with the wheel.

I then took it in for new control arms and had them check around for something loose up in the suspension but nothing.

What gives?

Try disconnecting your sway bar and see if the noise goes away. If so, it is a sway bar bushing. If not, check your strut hat (not easy to do!!!).

Thanks Bob,

Will look into that when I tackle the O2 sensor next week. Appreciate the reply.

The Avants don't have sway bar links as other manufacturers? The bushings on those go bad.
