Default Clicking Sound From Fuse Box/ Vent ?

Hi:

Has anyone hd this problem. When I start my 2004 A6 Avant up and its cold I get this annoying "clicking" sound...like an on/off clicking which seems to be coming from the fuse box area or around the drivers side vent.

It seems to go a way after about 10 mins driving but its a real pain in the rear !!

Any ideas ?

Tnaks..Jonathan

Dont have that, but I do know there are relays in the footwell area that control things like power windows and memory seats.

I have a 2006 A6 and it does the same thing. Sounds like a duct motor/flap is cycling. I have been trying to see if it is related to "economy" mode or not.

Thanks for the reply. Mine clicks even though I have all the heat/ac controls in the OFF position. This would seem to rule out any duct cycling etc ?? but I have no clue what else could be causing it...any ideas anyone ? Tks...JB

I know ALL to well about the clicking you are referring to and it has nothing to do with the duct. It's an electrical short like clicking sound....
