Clunking and vibration during braking
Hey so as the title implies every time I press my brake pedal my car either clunks hard or vibrates really fast. I've noticed that the hard loud clunking happens when I either brake hard (emergency) or simply coming from highway speeds and the fast vibration happens when I brake normally and I'm at more slower speeds (city driving). What can it be? Suspension bits (control arms, tie rods) both seem fine.
As of tonight 2/14/2014 here is a list of possible things I suspect in order of trouble (first being the highest)
Brakes and rotors (never been touched replacing this weekend)
Busted passenger side front outer CV boot (joint maybe?)
Control arms (upper and lower) and tie rods
I do want to point out that prior to my timing belt/ water pump job in early 2012 it didn't do it. This started after I put my car back on the road which was 3 months after I parked it due to a broken water pump. So basically I been dealing with this for nearly 2 years that has slowly gotten worse and also since then I've noticed that whenever I go over a metal guide for a gate I get a springy like vibration thru my entire car that goes away as soon as I press the brake pedal on the spot. Help?
Thanks

Never mind I found the problem. Turns out that my rear brakes were basically gone and my front brakes weren't so hot either. Did a full brake job rotors and everything front and back and it solved my problem. The rears were so worn that they had shifted somewhat inside the caliper. I took a test run after the service to do the bedding in and no horrible shaking anymore....
